Can we park in Simba lot or downtown Disney if we are unable to walk that 1 mile walk from Mickey & friends once the park opens ?

    Hey Denise!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for your question!

The Disneyland Resort currently offers two parking areas: Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and the Simba Parking Lot. The Simba Parking Lot offers self-parking for Guests of the Downtown Disney District. While you are welcome to park there for the day, the cost could be quite a bit more. That’s because while Mickey & Friends charges a flat daily rate, the Simba Parking Lot charges a fee in 30 minutes increments after the initial charge. If you’re at the theme park all day, it could cost you almost three times as much to park at the Simba Parking Lot.

If you are unable to make the walk to the entrance along the tram pathway, you have a couple of options. You can have someone drop you off at the Harbor Boulevard entrance. It’s a much shorter walk to security and the main gates on that side. Or you may ask a Cast Member for a courtesy wheelchair to use to get to the theme park entrance.

Please keep in mind your day at the Disneyland Resort will include a lot of walking. If you have mobility limitations, I recommend a Wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) rental. These rentals are available outside the theme parks, next to the Disneyland Park Main Entrance. Wheelchairs and ECVs are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, so please plan to arrive early as only a limited number are available each day.

I hope this answers your question. Enjoy your time at the Disneyland Resort and head back to planDisney with more questions!
