We have park reservations for Epcot on New Year’s Eve. Later that evening, we would like to have dinner at Flying Fish cafe on the boardwalk around 5PM. If the park is closed for park hopping later that day, will we be shut out of coming back into Epcot?

    Hello Caroline!

Congratulations on securing theme park reservations for Epcot on New Year's Eve!

The week after Christmas (between Christmas and New Year's Day) is typically a very busy time in Walt Disney World as far as crowds are concerned. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are the second busiest time at Walt Disney World (Christmas Day is typically the busiest day of the year for Walt Disney World). With a Walt Disney World ticket, you can leave the park and return to the same park later that day as long as the park has not reached park capacity for that day. There are only a few days during the year (for example, the Christmas holidays and the days around it, including New Year's Eve and New Year's Day) when a park will reach capacity and limit entry into that park. My recommendation is to stay in Epcot if you want to enjoy the New Year's Eve special fireworks presentation instead of risking not being able to get back into Epcot after your dinner at the Flying Fish. I advise finding a restaurant inside Epcot for your dinner so you will not have to leave Epcot for dinner and risk not getting back in.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!
