Hello and Welcome, Kim! I'm so excited for you to experience visiting the
Most Magical Place on Earth with your little granddaughter. I know you are going to make memories that will last a lifetime!
Children under the age of 3 are special Guests of my pal, Mickey Mouse! Children under 3 will not need a theme park ticket to visit any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Since no ticket is required, there is nothing to link a
park pass reservation to so they don't need one of these either.
Dinner reservations work a little bit differently. Due to safety regulations, each restaurant can only have so many people in it whether they are paying customers or not. So when you are making your
dining reservations be sure to include her in the total headcount. This will greatly help the Cast Members prepare for your arrival and will lessen your wait time once you arrive if they know exactly how many people will be dining. Now, with that being said children under the age of 3 can still eat free while dining at Walt Disney World. At all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants, the children under 3 years of age in your party are able to have as many of his or her own plates as they would like. This is the same if the meal is served family-style or is a more traditional style buffet where you get up and fix your plates. At restaurants where each person selects a single entree off of a menu, you are able to plate share with your under 3 child free of charge. At those style restaurants, if you wish to order your under 3 child his or her own meal, only then are you required to pay.
I loved squeezing in as many trips to Walt Disney World when my daughter was that small. It really is so nice and such a money saver not to pay for little ones! I always appreciated Disney's policy on this. I hope this helps sort out any confusion you may have had. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy planning and have fun!
