Hey there, Dallas. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I absolutely understand wanting to know the Walt Disney World Theme Park availability before purchasing theme park admission tickets. I think you will be happy to know that there is actually a
Theme Park Availability Calendar for you to look at. The calendar is broken down into three categories, Guests with a resort reservation, Guests with theme park tickets and Guests who are Annual Passholders. Each category has different theme park availability so be sure you are looking at the calendar that applies to you. Keep in mind that the availability calendar is always changing. As Guests with current park pass reservations change their itinerary or cancel their plans all together different availability opens up. I've had good luck with checking back closer to when I wanted to go and have been able to snag a park pass reservation.
Something that might be helpful for you to know is that
Park Hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. Park hopping means that you can enter more than one park per day. Since it's return, park hopping does look a little bit different. Here's how it's currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must make park pass reservations for the first park they are wishing to visit each day
- Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before park hopping
- Park hopping hours start at 2:00 p.m and last until each park closes
- Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time
If some of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks don't have any park pass reservations on a day you'd like to go but you can snag one for a different park, you can always visit the park you'd really like to go to later in the day. Park hopping is actually my preferred park touring method. I love visiting one park in the early morning and getting to do some of the most popular attractions at that park with little to no wait time. Then in the afternoon when the parks tend to be pretty busy and the weather is quite warm, I like to head back to my Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for a refreshing swim in the pool. After I've had my fun in the sun, I like to clean up and head over to Epcot for the evening hours. I like to enjoy eating and drinking around The World Showcase for dinner. It's a perfect Disney day. I should mention that park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time meaning that if a park has reached its capacity you would not be able to hop to that particular park. However, I have been park hopping since its return, a little over 2 months, and haven't experienced this problem yet.
Dallas, I hope you are able to secure a park pass reservation for the parks you are really wanting to visit during your Walt Disney World vacation. If not, I do think park hopping is a great alternative. If you have any other questions before your trip,
I'm here to help.
Have fun!
