Howdy, Kristen!
We are excited to see you here at planDisney with your great planning question! Thanks for stopping by.
As you've heard,
theme park reservations for date-based tickets will no longer be required starting January 9th, 2024. Hooray! While I am a planner at heart, I also like to be able to pick a park at a whim instead of being locked into where we start our adventure. While the
My Disney Experience app does not offer a way to see the crowd level at each park, you are able to look at attraction wait times. After sleeping in, while you're eating those Mickey waffles, pull up the map from the icon on the home screen of the My Disney Experience app and zoom in to see the current wait times. You can also filter the map options in the top left corner by park. Of course, there is no guarantee that the wait times will be the same by the time you make it into your park of choice, but it's one way to take a look at current park conditions. My kids like to send me screenshots of the park wait times even when we are home, hundreds of miles away from Walt Disney World Resort, just to tell me why we should be visiting on any particular day. It cracks me up!
While we are speaking of food, wait times and the My Disney Experience App, I want to make sure that you are aware of
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. It allows you to order your food, beverage or snack options from anywhere, pay right on the app and pick up when ready at the designated "Mobile Order Pick Up" window. It's just another way to save some precious park time!
Have a fantastic visit, Kristen, and please let us know if you have any other planning questions we can help you with.
Magical Wishes,
Lauren
