Hey there, Mari! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. Is there anything better than an upcoming
Walt Disney World trip? Spoiler: Nope!
It’s rare that Walt Disney World theme parks reach capacity, but it has been known to happen around popular holidays. When this happens, additional guests are not allowed to enter the park until crowd levels lessen and Cast Members determine it is safe to allow in more guests. Unfortunately, a theme park reservation does not guarantee you entry into a park that has reached capacity.
You can find out if a park is at capacity a few different ways. One is by calling (407) 560-5000 to hear a recorded message about which parks are accepting new guests. You can also find this information in the My Disney Experience app on the Park Hours and Information page.
My tip would be to keep an eye on the
theme park reservation calendar as you plan your trip. This calendar shows the reservation availability at each Walt Disney World theme park and can help give you an idea of which parks are expected to be busy on a particular day. If a park is no longer accepting reservations that doesn’t mean it’s at capacity, but it will give you an idea for where the crowds are.
Mari, I hope you have the most magical time at Walt Disney World. Before you know it, you’ll be walking down Main Street, strutting down Hollywood Boulevard, trekking past the Tree of Life, or strolling underneath Spaceship Earth! Be sure to pop back over to planDisney if you have any other Disney parks and trip planning questions.
Happy travels!
Matt
