Hi there, Brittany. We're so glad you stopped by planDisney with this great question!
It sounds like you've been doing your homework with regard to some of the
pandemic-related updates currently being implemented at the Walt Disney World Resort. You definitely get some virtual bonus points for being studious. Knowing about the
requirement for a park reservation puts you in prime position to plan an unforgettable vacation.
The good news is that, yes, a reservation does "save your spot" at the theme park where that reservation is held, even if you leave and return later. So many Guests really appreciate the chance to visit a park in the morning, leave for an afternoon nap or swim, and return later in the day for a meal and more fun. As you suggested in your example, Guests can also leave to visit another theme park (assuming that the
Park Hopper Option has been purchased and the second park has capacity availability) and return to the first theme park with the assurance of being admitted. I hope that puts your mind at ease.
You indicated that you'll be traveling in the fall. That is one of my favorite times of year to visit, in part because the
Taste of Epcot International Food and Wine Festival traditionally takes place during that time frame. Details about this annual event have yet to be announced for this year, but I'd definitely keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for relevant updates.
Don't be a stranger around here, okay, Brittany? We'd love to help in any way we can!
