Hey there, Linda, and welcome back to planDisney. I’m so glad you stop by with this question because plans change and people have to make different arrangements to visit Mickey and the rest of the Fab Five. But as Pumbaa, Timon, and Simba say, "Hakuna Matata," no worries. You will not lose the ticket and here is what to do.
You can make date changes to your ticket if you know when you going to be able to go at another time. The ticket price may be different and you will be required to pay the difference (if any) as tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable. If the ticket is less expensive, there is no refund. Here is how you do it from your My Disney Experience account online or from the My Disney Experience app.
- From the Walt Disney World Resort website: Hover over the My Disney Experience Mickey Mouse icon on the upper right side of the page and select "My Plans." A new page will open for you to log in. Scroll down the page to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. Select "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker." Find your ticket and make the necessary changes.
- On the My Disney Experience app: Open your My Disney Experience app on your smart device. On the lower right click the feature menu (≡) and select "Tickets & Passes." Your ticket will be listed and adjacent is an option to modify your ticket dates.
If you’re still having some difficulty, then call Existing Tickets (407-934-7639) or Guest Services (407-939-1936) and speak with a Cast Member who will help you through the process.
Be sure to take a picture or a screenshot of your tickets so that you have the ticket number for future reference. When a ticket date lapses, it will fall off your My Disney Experience account and you will not see it. When you are ready to use the ticket contact one of the above numbers and Cast Members will work through the details with you.
Please note: The information I am giving you is for a completely unused ticket. That means if you bought a multiple-day ticket (without a non-expiration option), and went into the theme parks for a few days of your ticket, and then you were not able to attend the remaining days on the ticket during the ticket use window, you will not be able to save the remaining days.
If you know you are not going to be able to make the dates that you already have a Park Pass Reservation for then go ahead and cancel the Reservation so another guest has the ability to enjoy some of the fun and magic.
planDisney Pro Tip: Expiration dates are noted on each ticket and may be officially verified or modified by contacting Guest Services or Existing Tickets. Usually, when a ticket expires the original ticket value may be applied toward the purchase of a future ticket. So holding on to the ticket numbers, hardcopies of tickets or even online orders and receipts is good practice to keep track of your access to the "Place Where Dreams Come True."
Linda, I hope this information helps you and gives you peace of mind about your upcoming trip. Please feel free to write me back directly with any follow-up questions.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
