Hi Amanda, and welcome to planDisney!
From exploring the African savanna and racing through the Himalayas on
Expedition Everest to walking down Main Street, U.S.A. and beholding the beauty of Cinderella Castle, your choice to park hop between
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and
Magic Kingdom Park is an excellent one. I am more than happy to help you with your question about your advance dining reservation.
Having an
advance dining reservation doesn't guarantee that you'll be granted entry into Magic Kingdom Park if it hits park capacity. I will say that the theme parks do not hit park capacity very often, Amanda. However, the opening of
TRON Lightcycle / Run and the recent return of the
Happily Ever After fireworks show make Magic Kingdom Park a hot commodity right now, so if there ever was a time for it to hit capacity, it could be during your trip.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
-You can
park hop as early as 2 p.m., so I strongly recommend that you head over to Magic Kingdom Park as close to that time as possible for a greater chance of beating a possible park capacity closure.
-You can cancel a dining reservation up to 2 hours before it begins, so be sure to cancel your reservation before then to avoid any charges.
-Consider opting for another restaurant choice at your first park of the day, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or elsewhere like
Disney Springs or at one of the Disney Resort Collection hotels.
AN EXTRA GEM: There are so many yummy dinner options at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In fact, it's my favorite place for in-park dining. Check out the menus for
Yak & Yeti Restaurant,
Tusker House Restaurant, and
Tiffins Restaurant. Seriously, you can't go wrong at this theme park.
Amanda, if you have any further questions as your vacation approaches, or even after the adventures are over,
revisit us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
