Welcome to planDisney, Kate. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by with your questions for us!
Have you heard the
amazing news, Kate? Disneyland Resort recently announced it will begin a phased reopening on April 30, 2021! It’s been over a year since we were able to stroll down Main Street, U.S.A., enjoy a DOLE Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland or get soaking wet on Splash Mountain. I’m looking forward to planning our family’s upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort theme parks and I’m guessing you’re ready to get back to the “Happiest Place on Earth” also, Kate!
When the Disneyland Resort theme parks reopen, park attendance will be managed through a new theme park reservation system. In order to enter a park, Guests will need a valid park admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day. While there aren’t a whole lot of details yet, I speculate that it will be similar to the current
Disney Park Pass reservation system that has been in use at
Walt Disney World Resort in Florida since it reopened last summer. Unfortunately, new theme park ticket sales remain paused at this time. To be in compliance with current guidance from the State of California, Guests will not be able to enter without a park reservation (even if they already have tickets). Moreover, for the time being, only California residents are allowed to enjoy the theme parks during the phased reopening.
I anticipate more detailed information will be shared soon by Disneyland Resort regarding reopening guidelines. Before you know it, Kate, you’ll be back to the parks taking photos in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and checking out the all-new
Avengers Campus in no time! Please be sure to stay tuned to
Disneyland.com and
Disney Parks Blog for the latest park news.
