Which park is recommended for young children (girls) 2 and 6? AK or Epcot (MK is a definite)? What character dining option would you recommend for this age group?

Hello Melissa, welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel!

For young girls either park will be a great experience.

At Epcot you can begin the day with a breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, one of my favorite character dining experience.
During the day you will meet and greet lots of Disney Princesses and other characters as you stroll through the park.
This park also features plenty of manual activities for young children and the best selection of restaurants at any theme park.

Animal Kingdom is a magical place to experience animal habitats and awesome attractions at the same time.  Here you can also begin the day at a unique character dining experience - Tusker House Restaurant.  Mickey and friends are all dressed up for the safari and the restaurant theme is outstanding.
This park features beautiful shows like Finding Nemo-The Musical, Festival of the Lion King and Flights of Wonder.  It´s Tough to be a Bug is another of my favorites but it can be scary and loud for small ones.
With attractions like Affection Section, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Maharajah Jungle Trek and Pangani Forest Explorations Trails this is a fun park to visit.

I would also recommend The Crystal Palace and ´Ohana as excellent character dining experiences.

Thank you for visiting and letting us help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
