Hey there Sharon and welcome to planDisney!
While Florida has been touted as the Sunshine State, any of us that have been there before could tell you that that could all change in moments. My annual trips are right in the middle of traditional hurricane season and my most recent trip fell victim to a random out-of-season hurricane/tropical storm. While there is a past precedent of the Walt Disney World Resort offering extensions on
Theme Park Ticket usage or things of that nature if they should have to close the park, that isn't necessarily the hard and fast rule. If the theme parks are still open then usually there is no exception for unexpected rain showers. But based on your arrival dates, I wouldn't worry too much. It's currently looking like blue skies and sunshine(with a little chill) are guaranteed for your trip next week.
Pro-tip: My dear friend and fellow panelist Tammy has truly taught me the value of dancing in the rain during a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Armed with our ponchos and water-safe shoes we've found some of our best snacks, enjoyed some indoor attractions like
Soarin' Around the World and taken our fair share of silly photos.
Sharon, don't let a rainy day get you down. Consider it an extra adventure! If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat!Happy planning!
