Some of my fondest memories at Disney World have been at the Polynesian Resort hotel. From watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks from its beach as a teen to celebrating my family’s birthdays at its restaurants as a mom, it really is one of those feel-good spots on property.
The surest way to guarantee hotel parking is to be a hotel Guest; however, the next best option is to make a dining reservation for one of its restaurants (like
‘Ohana or
Kona Cafe). Be ready to show your reservation and your photo ID. On some non-busy times of year, you could let the security guard know that you simply want to visit a lounge like
Wailulu or
Trader Sam’s and they may allow it. But they are not obligated to grant you access, and if they do, they will probably give you a parking time limit.
If you are an
Annual Passholder or are staying at another Disney World hotel, you get free self-parking at the nearby
Magic Kingdom parking lot. In the past, I’ve walked from there to the Transportation & Ticket Center and have been able to either take the
Disney Monorail or use the relatively short walking path to the Polynesian.
AN EXTRA GEM: Being dropped off at the hotel is another convenient way to access the Polynesian and other Disney World hotels’ offerings. A rideshare driver or a friend can drive you right up to the front of the hotel and pick you up at a later time.
