Hi, I have a park pass reservation on the 12/6/22, a Mickeys Christmas party date. If we want to attend this event, would we need to purchase additional tickets? What happens if we don’t, will we be required to leave the park earlier than normal? Thank you

Hi there, Sarah. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for dropping by with your question.

You have a trip planned to Walt Disney World over my favorite time of year. In December, the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are dressed up in their holiday best. It is so festive and fun. It makes for some pretty great pictures!

Sarah, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a special event that takes place on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park. In order to attend this holiday party, you would need to purchase a separate party ticket. During the party, Guests can enjoy special character interactions, holiday parades, an exclusive firework show and so much more. Plus, select attractions stay open to enjoy all night long. It's a super fun way to spend an evening.

If you don't purchase party tickets, you'll have to leave Magic Kingdom Park when it closes to day Guests around 7:00 p.m. Party goers will receive a special wristband to wear throughout the night and will be required to show it to gain access to certain parts of the park and attractions until it all clears out. If you don't attend the party, you are welcome to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park all day long right up until the last second. Even if you are in line for something when it is seven you won't be asked to leave. After you've enjoyed that particular attraction is when you'll need to make your way up to the front.

If I am not attending a party on a certain night, I typically like to avoid Magic Kingdom Park on that particular day. I am all about getting the value out of a Walt Disney World Theme Park ticket so leaving early is not for me. If it were me, I'd choose one of the other 3 parks to have park pass reservations at that particular day.

I hope this helps, Sarah. If you have more questions about this, please feel free to reach back out to me

    Happy holidays!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
