If the park opens at 9 am what is the best time to be there to avoid long lines??

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Fran!

Getting to the Theme Parks early before they open, also known as "rope-dropping", is one of the best ways to make the most of your time when you're on vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. There really are fewer guests there in the first few hours of the day so it's like sneaking in an extra FastPass+ or two because you're able to ride some popular attractions with what is likely to be a shorter wait time than usual!

If you want to take the greatest advantage of the shorter wait times at the beginning of the day, I recommend that you plan to arrive at the Theme Park you're visiting around 45 minutes to an hour before opening, so for you that will be around 8 a.m. It's possible that guests may be let into the Theme Park a little early, for example, guests at Magic Kingdom Park are often let on to Main Street U.S.A. before the official opening hours. That gives you the chance to get into position to be one of the first people in line when your favorite attractions open for the day. I especially recommend arriving this early if you want to be among the first people to ride some of the attractions that are most popular among guests right now, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park, Slinky Dog Dash at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I hope this answers your question, Fran, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
