    Kelly from PA Asked

The park hours for Epcot state that it opens at 11am on August 17. Is that for world showcase or does the park really open at 9am?

Hello and welcome, Kelly. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

You are reading that correctly, Kelly. All of Epcot is currently opening right now at 11:00 a.m. each day. I've been using it as a sleep-in morning when we visit! However, I like to arrive at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour early in the mornings. This gives me enough time to park and head through security before heading off to the first attraction of the day. Right now, to help promote physical distancing you are actually able to enter the theme parks a little bit early to avoid a big group of people at the entrance. Typically, a little pixie dust is sprinkled each morning and Guests are able to enjoy a few attractions before the park is technically open. This is why I love arriving early each morning, you are able to check off a few must-do's with little to no wait time.

Epcot is such a fun park to enjoy, I think you'll have a great time even though the park does open up a little bit later than maybe you are used to. I actually like the new opening time because I think the best time to visit Epcot is in the evening. There is nothing better than have a snack and drink around The World Showcase at night. It's just beautiful.

Kelly, did you hear the fireworks have just returned to Epcot? I'm super excited that they are back. With the later opening time, hopefully, I won't be too tired to enjoy them the next time I am there. I hope this helps clear up any confusion you may have had about the theme park's opening time. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to reach back out and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
