If park hours are different from initial reservation -AK is earlier rope drop on different day - can you switch your park reservations - Thank you ♥️

    Hi Stacey!

Welcome to planDisney! It’s very cool that you spotted the change in park hours for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, so hang on for this stampede of good news!

First of all, hooray for arriving in time for the final moments of the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary Celebration! While you’re at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, be sure to wave “hello” with your MagicBand+ to the golden 50th Anniversary sculptures, including those of our Lion King friends. Also, enjoy the return of the Festival of the Lion King show in Africa to hear the rhythms and lyrics from this classic, animated feature.

I am happy to say: Yes! You may experience this magic at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on a different day than originally planned. As a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder, I switch up my park reservations a lot. In fact, I can change a park reservation faster than you can say, “Hakuna Matata!” Okay, I’m exaggerating a bit, but here’s how you can quickly modify your park reservations, too:

    1) Check the availability calendar on the Walt Disney World Resort website to ensure that Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the other theme park have availability on those specific days for your ticket type.

    2) Log into your account on the My Disney Experience website.

    3) Visit “Theme Park Reservations” and click “Make or Modify Theme Park Reservations.”

    4) Find the first reservation that you want to modify and click “Modify Reservation.”

    5) Select the Guests that you’d like to include in the change, then choose the date the theme park that you prefer.

Of course, because you’re switching dates, you’ll want to repeat Steps 3-5 to modify your other park reservation. And depending on availability and your ticket type, you may not be able to select a certain theme park. However, please keep checking regularly for your desired theme park to have an opening. Worst case scenario: You can always park hop to another theme park after 2 p.m. if you have a ticket with a Park Hopper option

I hope this “problem-free philosophy” helped with your planing. Please revisit me here at planDisney if you have any further questions, Stacey!

    Magic always,
