What are the park hours for the dates of May 5-7 and what attractions will be closed for refurbishment? During this time, is it worth purchasing a lightening pass and if so, which one is best?

    Hey there Shelley,

Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you stopped by with your questions and I'm thrilled to see that you're hard at work in planning your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.

For your first question, the Hours & Events Calendar is going to be your best friend! This page has a date selector near the top left of the screen, you can select different areas of the Disneyland Resort to view, and it also has a toggle in the top right to switch between a 1-day and 5-day view of the schedule.

This calendar is available six weeks out from the current date, so you'll be able to see the schedule for the dates of your trip in about 2.5 weeks from the time I'm answering your question. Once available, you'll be able to see park hours, entertainment schedules, and there is also an expandable section near the bottom that shows attractions closed for refurbishment.

For your second question, there are three types of Lightning Lane passes. I'm personally a huge proponent of Lightning Lane Multi Pass. My family and I almost always purchase this add on so that we can get schedule return time windows to Lightning Lane return queues for some of the most popular attractions, and we also love that you get unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos. With this pass, you schedule your Lightning Lane queue window and those are subject to availability throughout the day and based on demand.

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass is a premium option that allows you one-time entry into each available Lightning Lane attraction in both parks. It's more expensive, but guarantees you an experience on all available Lightning Lane attractions.

The Lightning Lane Single Pass is offered specifically for one attraction in each park. These offer the same convenient access to the Lightning Lane queue but are essentially a la carte and separate from the Lightning Lane Multi Pass list of attractions. You purchase these separately and do not need to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass to be able to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass.

I hope that helps, Shelley! Thanks again for visiting planDisney and feel free to come back and see us if you think of any follow up questions we can help with.

    Have a Magical Day,
    Greg
