When park hopping do you need to make a reservation at the second park?

Hi there, Bryan! Thanks for bringing your great question to planDisney! It’s my pleasure to assist you with your Disney Parks planning!

You are correct that a Disney Park Pass Reservation is still necessary. Park reservations are still required through January 8, 2024. However, when park hopping, you only need to make a reservation for the first park that you will be visiting. You do not need to make a reservation for the park to which you will be “hopping” later in the day. Keep in mind that you must “tap in” to your first park for which you have a reservation prior to hopping to your next park. Park Hopping begins at 2:00 PM.

Bryan, you’re visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year! The Disney Parks are popular during the holiday season. Disney Parks can reach capacity during the holidays. When they do, additional Guests might not be able to enter a park, so I encourage you to prioritize your favorite parks, arrive early, and plan on staying in the park rather than exiting. This is particularly important when visiting Disney Parks on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. Guests will typically receive a notification to their mobile device informing them that a park has reached capacity. This notification is through the My Disney Experience app. You can use this link to access some very helpful planning information regarding the Park Hopper ticket!

    Happy Planning!
