Is Park hopping still available? If a guest at a park leaves early, may they return the same day? Are the shows going to be started up again? Are fast passes still being used and does the whole party have to get the same fast pass?

Hi there, Thomas! Welcome to planDisney.

Can I tell you that I love all these fantastic planning questions? I can see that you have Disney on the brain and I am VERY here for it! When I read your list of questions, I thought of one of my very favorite characters: Forky from Toy Story 4. Except, you are asking some very good and important questions...not "what is cheese?" Let's get you some answers for planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Yes, park hopping is an option again at the Walt Disney World Resort! It's working a little differently than it has in the past, so be sure to read the Park Hopper Option webpage for all the details. You will need a ticket with the Park Hopper option, and a Disney Park Pass reservation for the theme park you plan to enter first each day. You must enter that theme park before hopping to the next park, and you may only hop during Park Hopper Hours. Those hours will be posted on the Park Hours calendar and are subject to change. Once Park Hopper Hours begin, you may park hop without Disney Park Pass reservations for any subsequent parks.

Theme park capacity is currently limited for health and safety reasons as part of the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort. Guests must have Disney Park Pass reservations, but these do not guarantee re-entry. If you leave a theme park, you may not be able to reenter if the park has reached capacity; similarly, Park Hopping is only permitted when theme parks are not at capacity.

I have my own pixie-dusted wishes that more entertainment offerings return soon. We know Festival of the Lion King is coming back this summer and are waiting for more details to be released. When it returns, the show will be modified to make it safe for the performers and audience; the Disney Parks Blog will have all the details as soon as they're ready for showtime. They are the best source for news and updates, so be sure to follow them on your favorite social media channel to stay up-to-date.

FastPass+ is currently paused as part of the phased reopening, and we don't know when it might make its return. Because theme park capacity is limited, wait times have been manageable in the theme parks. You'll want to keep an eye on the Wait Times feature on the map in the My Disney Experience mobile app to best plan your day. My fellow panelist Jackie has some helpful tips for planning your day to maximize your time in this helpful answer.

I hope you have so much fun planning your December visit, Thomas. It's one of my very favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, with so much holiday magic in the air. As you continue to make your plans, please come back and see us with your questions - it's a pleasure to help a fellow Guest with their Disney dreaming.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
