Hi Emilie, welcome to planDisney!
Your visit to
The Most Magical Place On Earth is just a few days away! I am sure you are bursting with excitement! When visiting Disney World, I always add the Park Hopper Option to my
Theme Park Tickets. I love the flexibility to come and go from any park based on the crowds, our dining reservations, or what my children want to experience next.
Did you know that if you are a Guest at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you have access to the various
complimentary transportation options available and
complimentary parking at the Theme Parks? If you aren’t staying on property this visit, Hakuna Matata, you will have to pay for parking at your first park, the
Magic Kingdom, but then you can utilize the complimentary transportation to park hop. Sometimes, it may make more sense to take your car from one park to another, especially since you only have to pay once.
To answer your question, unfortunately, the
monorail does not travel between the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The monorail outside the Magic Kingdom gates will connect you to the Magic Kingdom Resorts (Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort) and to the Transportation and Ticket Center (this is what the Magic Kingdom parking lot is called). A monorail will take Guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center to
EPCOT but not
Hollywood Studios. The two options to get from the Magic Kingdom to Hollywood Studios would be by Disney’s bus system or your vehicle. While you are welcome to keep your car at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you will need to pay attention to the park hours to ensure you can take a bus back to the Magic Kingdom and then the monorail or boat from the Magic Kingdom entrance back to the Transportation and Ticket Center to get to your car at the end of the night.
I hope this answers your question, Emilie.
Let me know if you want any assistance with planning your two-day itinerary!
Have a great time!
