are those who got a park hopper ticket but not staying on-site at a WDW resort still able to use the transportation (monorail, ferries, bus) free of charge to get from park to park/disney springs?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Jonathan! I see that your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is quickly approaching. I bet you are getting so excited. I absolutely love visiting in the fall, all of the decorations make it so festive, I know you are going to have a great time!

Jonathan, I think you will be happy to know that once you are at Walt Disney World, you will absolutely be able to take advantage of the complimentary transportation around the resort! You do not need to be a Disney Collection Resort's Hotel Guest for this amenity. In fact, to make park hopping a little bit easier for Guests like you and me at this time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided. I love not having to make a detour to the closest resort before continuing to the next Walt Disney World Theme Park as an avid park hopper. It makes the day much smoother.

I wanted to let you know that park hopping does look a bit different than it did before since it returned to us at the start of this year. Here is how it is currently working:

    • Guests wishing to park hop must have standard theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations for each day of their vacation
    • Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing to other theme parks later in the day
    • Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evening
    • It is not necessary or even possible to make additional park pass reservations to hop throughout the day. All you need is the initial one each day
So, as you can see, park hopping is slightly different, but it is still great, and I am so glad it is back. Park hopping is my absolute favorite way to spend a Disney day. I hope this helps, Jonathan. If you have any other questions before your trip, please stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun and happy hopping!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
