Hi Laura,
Sing along with me, Laura.
"When there's a smile in your heart
There's no better time to start
Think of all the joy you'll find
When you park hop!"OK, I know that's not quite how the song goes, and I know the song is called "You Can Fly" and not "You Can Park Hop." Still, I think it's great that you are looking into park hopping when you visit the Disneyland Resort. I always recommend park hopping when visiting the Disney theme parks. I feel that park hopping adds a bit more magic in your day when you can enjoy and experience both theme parks in the same day.
You ask a great question about making theme park reservations with the Theme Park Tickets & Reservations system. I understand you are asking about how to make a reservation for just one park. The note I want to share is that you only need to make a reservation for one theme park, and that's the theme park you will visit first. Currently, you are not required to make a theme park reservation for the second park you want to visit. (You can check out the details in the "Park Hopper Tickets" section on the
Theme Park Tickets & Reservations page. )
So when you
purchase your theme park tickets and you select Park Hopper as your ticket type, you'll be prompted to reserve your ticket date and this will make a theme park reservation for that date. You'll then be prompted to select your starting park. If you see that a reservation is only available for one park, you could select that park, and then hop to the other theme park after 1 p.m. based on park capacity. If you have your heart set on starting your day in one particular theme park, and if you're flexible with your dates, you could use the interactive calendar to find a date with a reservation for the park you want to visit first. You can then view your theme park reservation using the
My Theme Park Reservations page.
I hope this answers your question, Laura. I also hope you come back to planDisney with other questions you might have as your make your plans.
I like to sing the song this way:
"Now, think of the happiest things
Park Hopping is the same as having wings." Enjoy your park hopping!
Jerry
