How does the park hopper pass work if I must make a park reservation each day of our stay?

Hey there, Jody! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I am so glad that park hopping has returned to Walt Disney World at the start of this year. It's my favorite way to spend a Disney day! Since its return, it does look a little bit different than it did before. Here's how park hopping is currently working:
    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make a park pass reservation for the first theme park they wish to visit each day
    • Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks later in the day
    • There is no need to make additional park pass reservations. Just the initial one each day
    • Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evenings
So with that being said, you will need to make a park pass reservation for the first park you'd like to visit each day. You are not able to secure more than one park pass reservation per day and you won't need to.  After 2:00 p.m. you are able to park hop to any park that you would like and as many times as you would like throughout the rest of the day. To make park hopping a little more convenient for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided. Around 2:00 p.m. or anytime after that you'd like to park hop, just head out of the theme park you are currently at and walk toward the designated bus stop area. There will be signs telling you which bus stop to wait at for your next destination, head that direction and then be whisked away to your next magical adventure.

I almost always park hop every day that we are at Walt Disney World. I like waking up early and hitting one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks right when it opens to beat the crowds. After doing my must-dos it's typically around lunchtime. I always feel like the parks tend to be the most crowded around this time so that's when I head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at for an afternoon swim. Then around suppertime, I like to clean up and head over to Epcot for the rest of the evening. Enjoying snacks and drinks around The World Showcase is a perfect ending to the day.

I hope this helps clear things up about park hopping for you, Jody. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
