Hey there, Angela! Thanks so much for coming to planDisney to ask your questions about the “kingdoms” at Walt Disney World!
Over the past few years, I have become an expert on driving around Walt Disney World. You have a couple of options for your park hopping day of fun at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom.
Depending on where you would like to start, I would recommend planning to get to the parking lot at least 45 minutes prior to park opening. If you are staying is a Walt Disney World Resort, your theme park parking is free. When you get to the parking window, upgrade and pay for
preferred parking. These parking spots, especially at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, are significantly closer to the entrance. Plus, once you have paid for preferred parking at one theme park, you get it at any other park that you visit that same day.
When you are ready to park hop, jump back into your vehicle and head to the next theme park. Should you decide to go from Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom and then back to Magic Kingdom, you will be thanking me in your head when you don’t have to wait on a WDW bus twice.
You might consider heading to Animal Kingdom early and doing all the attractions there and then hopping to Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day. I have found recently that we are able to complete our Animal Kingdom day in a matter of hours, leaving much of the day for enjoying another theme park. Be sure to watch attraction times and plan accordingly on the
MyDisneyExperience mobile app. You also might consider purchasing Disney Genie+ to help you experience as much as possible on this day.
I hope you have a wonderful visit for
The Most Magical Celebration on Earth! Be sure to watch for all Fab 50 Character Collection statues.
Happy Hopping,
Tracy
