Hey there, Denise. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney to ask your question. Your vacation is right around the corner, I bet you are getting so excited!
I am thrilled that at the start of this year
park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. It's actually my preferred park touring method and I missed it so much. My perfect Disney day starts off with an early morning enjoying attractions at Magic Kingdom Park. Then around lunchtime heading back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at to relax by the pool. After I've had my fill of splish-splashing in the Florida sun, I like to clean up and head over to Epcot to enjoy snacks and drinks around The World Showcase for dinner. It's a wonderful day and I am really glad to be getting back to a little bit of normalcy. Even though park hopping has returned, it does look a little bit different at this time.
Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests must make a park pass reservation for the first park they wish to visit each day
- Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation
- Park hopping starts at 2:00 p.m. and lasts until park closing
- Park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations at this time
To make park hopping easier on Guests during this unprecedented time, complimentary bus transportation is currently being provided from park to park. I think this is a wonderful addition and hope it will stick around when things go back to normal. Before boarding the bus to a different Walt Disney World theme park, a Cast Member working the bus stop location will want to verify you do indeed have the park hopper feature on your tickets. They'll verify this by scanning your MagicBand or ticket and then you'll be able to board the bus. I've been park hopping for almost 2 full months now and have never had an issue with a park reaching its capacity later in the day but if that does happen that same Cast Member will let you know if a park is full and you can adjust your plans from there.
I hope this helps you organize your park hopping days for your upcoming vacation, Denise. If you have any other questions before you go, I'd love for you to come back and
ask me. Have fun!
