Park hopper or 1 day Park for 2 adults and a 12 year old and a 15 year old. I am trying to save money but it feels like the kids will want to move around the parks. we will be there 3 days

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lisa!

I completely understand your dilemma.  When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for my family of 6, I often wrestle with making choices to keep us within our budget while at the same time providing the best vacation experience possible.

When we first began vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort, all multi-day tickets included the Park Hopper Option, so we became used to being able to visit more than one theme park on the same day.  When Magic Your Way tickets debuted in 2005 with à la carte options, we chose to forgo the Park Hopper Option to save money, and used our savings for some nice meals.  Our kids were small at the time and visiting one park per day was enough for them.  I must admit, I do prefer the flexibility of having a ticket with the Park Hopper Option.  If one park closes earlier than the others, you can "hop" over to another to enjoy a few more hours of fun, or perhaps plan a special meal in a different park than you visited earlier.

Lisa, in your situation I would recommend getting the Park Hopper ticket.  With a party of four and the ages of your kids, I think you will be able to move around rather efficiently.  Also, with 3 days to visit and 4 amazing theme parks, it would be hard for me to recommend which park to skip.  There are attractions and experiences in each theme park that your family will enjoy.  The Park Hopper ticket will allow you to at least get a taste of all of them.  Park hours for the week of your visit will be relatively long, so if your family is able to play from morning 'til late night, you can get quite a bit of value from your tickets.

With your visit coming up quickly I encourage you to purchase your tickets as soon as you can.  You will want to create a My Disney Experience account and link tickets to each family member in order to make advance  FastPass+ reservations.

Lisa, I hope you found my answer helpful.  If you have any additional questions as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please do not hesitate to visit us again.  Have a magical vacation!
