Can I park for free at magic kingdom for a few hours if I have a dinner reservation at Ohana? I understand I can’t park at the hotel but can I park at TTC? Or is it better to get public transport to avoid a high parking charge?

Aloha, Heather, and a warm island welcome to planDisney!

Your dining reservation at 'Ohana is just around the corner, and I'm so glad you popped by with your question. You're just in the nick of time! Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite places to stay, dine, and explore whenever I'm in Walt Disney World, so I'm more than happy to help you wayfind your way there. Time is of the essence, my friend, so let's dive right in!

Heather, I have some great news that might make your day: when you have a dining reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you are generally welcome to park your car in the resort lot. Upon arrival, have your My Disney Experience app handy so that you can show proof of your reservation to the Disney Cast Member at the gate. You'll typically receive a parking pass that entitles you to a few hours of complimentary parking at the resort! This is such an easy and convenient option, provided you won't need to park for more than a couple of hours. Depending on the time of your dinner reservation, you may even have time to catch Magic Kingdom Park's Happily Ever After fireworks from the beach! This is such a magical way to end the night, so stop by the Pineapple Lanai for a DOLE Whip and find a spot to relax in the sand!

Now, if you're combining your Hawaiian feast with a visit to Magic Kingdom, you'll need parking for more hours than your complimentary pass will allow. So if a stroll down Main Street U.S.A. is part of your evening plans, you'll want to park at the Ticket & Transportation Center instead. From here, you can take the monorail straight to the Great Ceremonial House, or you can take the footpath, located just to your left before entering Security. In my experience, the footpath is usually the better choice - it's quick, it's scenic, and you avoid sucking up time at Security.

I hope this information is helpful, Heather, and that you savor every bite of your feast at 'Ohana! If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find us right here at planDisney!

    A hui hou,

    Allison
