When does the park decorate for Christmas? My wife and I were there on honeymoon with the Christmas decorations and especially the It's a Small World ride. We want to return with her parents to see the decorations

Greetings, Jon, and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your holiday question!

How magical to have visited the theme parks during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort on your honeymoon! It’s always a jolly holiday at the Merriest Place on Earth, and I can’t wait for you to experience it again with your wife and her parents!

So far, we don’t have any exact dates for the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. But, we do know that it’s scheduled to return in fall of 2022. To help you start planning, I did some research on the beginning of the holiday season, and discovered that it recently ran from November 12, 2021, through January 9, 2022. Typically, the holiday decorations, specialty food, and attraction overlays remain in the parks through the first weekend of January, so I’d estimate that the season will run from about November 11, 2022 through January 8, 2023. We should hEAR an official announcement on this by early November, so I recommend staying tuned to the Disney Parks Blog this fall for the latest announcements!

Since you and your family love the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, I highly recommend attending Disney Merriest Nites if it returns to the Resort this upcoming holiday season! Last year, I attended this magical after-hours holiday event with my family, and we had a blast! What a treat to see an exclusive viewing of A Christmas Fantasy Parade, in addition to unique Disney Character sightings, and even snowfall on Main Street, U.S.A.! Plus, with your event ticket, you can “mix-in” early to Disneyland Park just in time to catch the magical “it’s a small world” Holiday lighting!

Please stop by with any additional planning questions you may have as your trip gets closer, Jon… we’re all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Greetings from sunny California! I live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder (and now a Magic Key Passholder) for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids ages 5-10, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Learn More About Kristin
