Hi there, Vicki!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. It is my greatest pleasure to help you decide just how many days will be perfect for your very first visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Let's get straight into it!
First, in my opinion, the best way to get the full Disney experience is to visit each of the four theme parks. With that being said, my recommendation is at least four days. If there's a theme park that you'd really like to dive into (like the classic Magic Kingdom Park), definitely carve out time to start your vacation there and then tack on a fifth day to revisit your favorite attractions, shows, and treats.
Here's the lowdown on the theme parks:
-
Magic Kingdom Park: It's the quintessential Resort theme park and the home of the iconic Cinderella Castle. This was the first park that I took my older kiddo to, and although he probably doesn't remember, it was the best park to introduce him to the magic. There are several attractions without height requirements there, so it's great fun for the entire family!
-
Disney's Hollywood Studios: If you're fans of Toy Story or Star Wars, this should hands down be a part of your itinerary. This is also the location of the only attraction dedicated to Mickey Mouse himself:
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. It's my go-to theme park for thrills for sure.
-
EPCOT: From the thrilling
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to the easygoing Soarin' Around the World, there's something for everyone at EPCOT. And if you love food like I do, visiting during one of the many festivals is a must. You'll leave saying that you've visited 11 countries in one day.
-
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: If you love animals and nature, this is my number one choice for you!
Kilimanjaro Safaris is such a special experience, especially in the early hours when the animals are super active, and you'll never forget the unique rides like
Avatar Flight of Passage. It is truly a thematically immersive theme park, which makes it my personal favorite.
If you want a more low-key first vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth, choose your must-do theme parks and use the other days to unwind at your Resort hotel or explore the sights and sounds of
Disney Springs, Walt Disney World Resort's shopping and dining district.
AN EXTRA GEM: If you want to do fewer amount of days, I strongly recommend including the
Park Hopper option to your tickets. For example, Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are just a
Monorail ride away from each other. So, you can have the best of both worlds in just one day!
I hope that your family has the BEST time while at the Disney parks! Vicki, please
revisit me here at planDisney if you have any other questions as you plan your most magical vacation.
Magic always,
LeAndra
