What park and day (1 day) is best to visit Disney World? I am bring my 64 year old mentally challenged cousin for her birthday. It will be our first time to visit without DAS! She loves all the parks. Thanks!

Hello Karen, welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question, it’s wonderful to hear that you’re planning such a special birthday celebration at Walt Disney World Resort for your cousin. I’d love to help you choose the best park and day for your magical adventure together!

Since she loves all the parks and this will be her first visit without using the Disability Access Service (DAS), I recommend visiting Magic Kingdom Park for your special day. Magic Kingdom is truly the heart of Walt Disney World, filled with beloved attractions, enchanting entertainment, and a sense of wonder around every corner. It’s often the most nostalgic and magical park for guests of all ages, and it offers the largest number of attractions with a wide range of experiences, from calm boat rides like "it’s a small world" to beloved favorites like the Jungle Cruise and Mickey’s PhilharMagic. There are also plenty of shows and parades that don’t require long waits or Lightning Lane Passes.

As for the best day of the week to visit, Tuesday or Wednesday typically offer lighter crowds compared to weekends or Mondays, which can make a big difference when navigating the park without DAS. Mid week visits often feel more relaxed and give you the space to explore at a more comfortable pace.

To help your day go smoothly, I also suggest arriving early, right at park opening if possible. Morning hours are typically less busy and cooler, and you can enjoy several attractions with shorter wait times. You might also consider purchasing Lightning Lane Passes for one or two of her must do experiences if that feels helpful. And don’t forget to stop by Guest Relations for a complimentary birthday celebration button so Cast Members and fellow Guests can join in the fun!

Karen, I hope this helps you plan a day full of joy and cherished memories. If you need help with attraction suggestions based on mobility or sensory comfort, or tips for navigating the My Disney Experience app during your visit, I’m happy to help! Wishing you both a truly magical day at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
