Hi Mat!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy - it’s time for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! What’s the first thing you want to do when you arrive? While I love hitting the parks, I often like spending my arrival day relaxing after traveling to Florida. This usually looks like some quality pool time at my resort, but did you know that Guests staying in a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection get
free admission to a water park on their check-in day in 2025? It’s a great new perk and something to keep in mind when planning your next visit! Don’t forget that you can check your Disney hotel room for information on the current “bounce back” offer. If you’re unfamiliar, this is a fantastic discount on a future stay that you can access when you book your next vacation during your current trip or within seven days of checking out!
Now, let’s talk about getting to the magic - or, more precisely,
Magic Kingdom Park! If you’re driving to Magic Kingdom, you won’t find parking directly at the entrance. Instead, Guest parking is located at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which is located just across the Seven Seas Lagoon. If you’re staying in a Disney-owned hotel,
parking is complimentary during your stay. It’s also worth noting that if you pay to park, make sure to save your receipt - especially if you decide to park hop! When parking at the theme parks, you only have to pay once per day, no matter how many parks you visit. Simply show your dated receipt as proof of your parking purchase once you arrive at the next park!
Once you have parked your car and passed through security, you’ll have two options to head to the park - a beautiful
Ferryboat ride across the lagoon or a spin on the iconic
Walt Disney World Monorail. Either option makes you feel a bit like royalty as you pull up to the entrance to the park! When it comes to the Monorail, you’ll be able to choose between two lines - the Resort Monorail or the Express Monorail. The express option takes you directly from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the park entrance, while the resort line includes stops at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before arriving at your destination. If you choose the resort option to head back to your car in the evening, you’ll first stop at Disney’s Contemporary Resort before getting back to your car.
Speaking of getting back to your car, here's another fun tip! Inside the
My Disney Experience Mobile App is a
Car Locator feature. You can access this when you park in the morning, and it will easily remind you exactly where you parked at the end of the day. You're likely taking thousands of steps exploring all that Magic Kingdom offers, so why add more looking for your car?
Mat, I hope this information has been helpful, and you enjoy a wonderful visit! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
