Hello, which park would be best to visit each day (one park per day jan 8 and Jan 10) of the marathon to avoid runners traffic ? (I'm not running). Thanks.

Greetings Danielle and welcome to planDisney!

You might not be running in the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend events, but I bet you will be adding some steps to your step counter by the time you are done with your Disney vacation!  My wife and I are always amazed at how many steps we end up taking each day while we are walking through the theme parks!  We realized that we were already reaching 10K territory per day, so we decided to join the runDisney family and have had a great time participating in the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Danielle, I don’t think you need to adjust your schedule based on the runDisney races that are going to take place while you are visiting.  You mentioned January 8, 2027, which is the date of the 10K race. This race could impact the roads around EPCOT, but the race is early in the morning and by the time you are ready to head to the theme parks, most of the runners are finished and headed back to their rooms.  Thank you for taking January 9, 2027, as a day of rest in celebration of my birthday! Please enjoy a Mickey Bar or two to celebrate with me! The runDisney race on January 10, 2027, is the Marathon and there could be runners in any of the parks at arrival time.  If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, there will be plenty of signs throughout the resort letting Guests know if there are going to be road closures and a need for extra travel time.

Danielle, my recommendation is to stick with your original idea for each day and to enjoy the energy and excitement that the runDisney racers bring to each theme park! Most of the participants will wear their medals to the park and I suggest giving them a big hello and congratulations on the job well done!

    Danielle, have a great adventure!
