Hello!! Which park is best suited for a rainy day? Or rather, which park would you rather be at on a rainy day? Thanks!!

    Hi Amy!

I have discovered that rainy days are actually some of the best times to tour the Parks of Walt Disney World!  There is normally an afternoon rainstorm in Florida especially during the summer, but these type of storms usually pass quickly. I am going to assume that you are speaking of the rain that lasts half a day to a whole day long.  Keep in mind that the crowds are generally less when it is raining hard.  The Parks that I would rather be at on a rainy day are Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios because the rides and attractions are close together and you can duck into the next one without being in the rain for long.  My son and I completed all of the rides in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom in less than 2 hours during one rainy morning (that amount of rides probably would have taken us 4-6 hours or more on a sunny day).

The Parks that I would avoid on a rainy day are Animal Kingdom and Epcot because these two Parks are very spacious and there is a lot of ground to cover between attractions.  In Epcot there are a lot of indoor attractions and rides but you will have to walk outside to get to the next building that houses a ride or attraction especially in Epcot's World Showcase.  Animal Kingdom is the largest Park of the four Parks and has a lot of unsheltered areas that are open to the weather as you are making your way from one ride to another.

Regardless of what Park you chose to visit, I would definitely recommend a sturdy rain poncho and umbrella to help you brave the elements on a rainy day.

I hope that you have a magical time at Walt Disney World rain or shine!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
