If the park you want to attend has no reservations, but someone cancels their tickets is their away that you can know if a reservation becomes available?

Hi there, Holly! Welcome to planDisney!

It's the most wonderful time of the year at The Most Magical Place on Earth, but that also means it's one of the busiest. It looks like you're planning to arrive this Sunday, and checking the Theme Park Reservations Availability Calendar just now, I can definitely see that reservations for next week are already pretty hard to come by. It's always possible that another Guest may cancel their existing Disney Park Pass reservation, but unfortunately, Disney doesn't have any kind of alert system that will let you know if something opens up. The best advice for now is to keep a close eye on that calendar just in case a little holiday magic comes through for you.

Holly, the calendar is also showing that there are reservations available for EPCOT each day except Monday, and for Disney's Animal Kingdom Park on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you add the Park Hopper Option to your tickets, you may be able to visit EPCOT in the morning and then hop to another park that didn't have reservations available. Keep in mind that park hopping may be limited if the other parks reach capacity, so you'll need to check the My Disney Experience mobile app on your phone for updates. Today, for example, the Magic Kingdom Park has no reservations available, but park hopping is still scheduled to open for all parks beginning at 2 p.m. So, if I had a reservation for EPCOT today, I'd be able to hop to the Magic Kingdom later, even though there aren't any reservations left! No guarantees (and I would guess that park hopping won't be possible on Christmas Day), but it's one way you might be able to get into the theme park you were hoping for.

And don't forget, there's lots to see outside of the theme parks, too! Disney Springs is lovely during the holidays, and of course, you can always check out the Christmas décor at the Resort hotels. My favorite is the larger-than-life gingerbread house in the lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. It will certainly put you in the Christmas spirit!

I hope this helps you have a jolly holiday at the Walt Disney World Resort, wherever the spirit takes you! Thank you so much for stopping by, and we'll see you again real soon!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
