Hi there, Judith!
From one American Mouseketeer to another,
bienvenue to planDisney!
I've made the journey from Paris to Disneyland Paris several times, and it never ceases to amaze me just how easy it is...especially for someone who exclusively speaks English! My pal Matt and I recently outlined the transportation process in a brief video for planDisney that I'm linking to this page. I encourage you to check it out to familiarize yourself with it before your visit.
Since you won't be in the middle of the magic until next summer, you have plenty of time to secure your theme park ticket. It's just important to keep in mind that theme park tickets are not sold in-person at the entrances to the Disney Parks and typically need to be purchased online at least 1 day in advance. Of course, availability is always subject to change, so once you decide which day of your Parisian getaway you'd like to spend with Mickey and pals, I'd suggest booking your ticket as soon as you are able. Because dated tickets
purchased directly through Disneyland Paris can be modified or canceled for a full refund up to three days before your visit, there's flexibility in case your plans change. Currently, dated tickets do not require any type of advance reservation, but undated tickets will require you to register your visit in advance. Regardless of what type of ticket you choose, you'll want to download the Disneyland Paris mobile app and
link your ticket for convenient admission to the theme parks.
When purchasing your ticket, you'll have the option to select access to 1 or 2 Parks. Since you're just visiting for the day, it might be tempting to purchase a 1-Park ticket and spend all of your time in Disneyland Park (I mean, who doesn't want to see the
dragon beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle?), but I highly encourage going with the 2-Park option. By the time of your visit, Walt Disney Studios Park will have transformed into
Disney Adventure World and feature brand new offerings such as the
World of Frozen and
Adventure Way that you won't want to miss. Because the two theme parks are just a short walk apart, you'll find it incredibly easy to move between the two.
I hope this information is helpful as you plan your time in Paris, Judith, and that you'll come see us again at
planDisney if you'd like any additional suggestions for making the most of your day.
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
