My parents will travel with us on our next visit and we will stay in a two bedroom lock-off villa. Could my family of 4 be on the meal plan but my parents pay out of pocket for meals? Thank you

    Hi Amy,

You must be so excited about your upcoming vacation with your extended family! There is no place like Disney where you can create special family memories and shared experiences which will last a lifetime.

Adding the Disney Dining Plan to your Disney Resort reservation is a convenient and hassle-free way to vacation by pre-paying for meals, snacks and drinks during your stay, all of which can be accessed and redeemed by a simple touch of your Magic Band. Traveling with teenagers, I also like the flexibility of the Dining Plan as it allows our family to occasionally split up, with the kids being able to pick up a snack or meal on their own without having to carry cash.

Unfortunately, one of the restrictions of the Disney Dining Plan is that it must be purchased by all Guests on your Resort reservation for the entire duration of that stay. Therefore, if your entire family is included on the same Resort reservation, in order to participate in the Disney Dining Plan all six of you would have to purchase the same Dining Plan. If you decide that the Disney Dining Plan will not work out for your party of six on this trip, you may wish to consider purchasing Tables In Wonderland. This is a great program available for Disney Vacation Club Members, Annual Passholders and Florida residents. It provides a 20% discount on food and beverage at a large number of participating locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort for a one year period. The current cost for Disney Vacation Club members is $150.

Don’t forget to start making dining reservations up to 180 days in advance as many of the popular restaurants and dining experiences do book up early.

Wishing you all the best in the countdown to your next "Welcome Home" at Disney!
