My parent's took our entire family to Disney in 2012, which at that time was 14 people. One of them being my wonderful awesome son, Derek, who just passed away January 3rd . I want to surprise a group of 16 in March with a tribute to my son! How?

    Hi Stacie,

First, I just want to tell you that I'm terribly sorry to hear about the passing of your son. I'm glad that you were able to enjoy a wonderful vacation with him and the rest of your family prior to his passing. I'm not certain if you're looking to surprise your group of 16 with a trip to Walt Disney World, or if you're looking to have a Disney-themed tribute to your son at home.

If you're looking to plan a surprise trip to Walt Disney World, Resort hotel reservations can be made up to 499 days in advance and I feel like it's never too early to start planning. If you're wanting to plan this surprise for next month, the best place to start is going to be a phone call to the Walt Disney Travel Company at 407.939.1936. They will be able to assist with making reservations for you as quickly as possible for a large party like yours. Also, check out the Large Party Planning section of the Walt Disney World website for more tips!

If you're looking to have a Disney-themed tribute at home, now is a great time to check out Walt Disney World's "Show Your Disney Side" Pinterest Page for some super cool ideas. Something we have done in the past is to release balloons into the air and watch them until we can no longer see them. It's somehow been a calming feeling to reflect on memories as we watch them disappear into the sky. You could get some Disney-themed balloons and release those as a tribute to the wonderful family vacation you enjoyed with your son.

I'm so glad that you stopped by the Moms Panel with your question and I hope that I've given you some ideas that will help you get started. Please write back in if we can help with any other questions you have!

    Have a Pixie Dusted day!
