My parents are residents and got my kids resident tickets but I have regular tickets. Can I take them to the park without my parents or do they have to enter with them? We will get there at opening and they will join us later in the day.

    Hi, Sarah!

So this is a bit tricky! Let's start with the rules of the Florida Resident ticket. The Walt Disney World website states: For Florida resident tickets, all adults will need to show proof of Florida residency at park entrance

Since your kids are minors, they would not have to show identification. However, the adults they are traveling with would need to be the Florida Residents traveling with them. Since your parents are not going to be accompanying them, they will likely not be able to use the tickets.

Feel free to contact Guest Services, but I am afraid they will explain that your kids technically (per rules of the Florida Resident ticket) are not Florida residents and therefore do not qualify for the discounted tickets. Call a friendly Cast Member at (407)939-7523 so the information can be explained to you.

I wish I could be of more help, but I would not want you to get to the gates and be turned away with the tickets. Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
