Emily from CT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My parents are not that tech savvy but all five of us are going to Disney at the end of the month. Can I book the rides through Jeanne plus for my whole family? Or does everyone need to book individually?

    Hear ye, hear ye, Emily!

By royal proclamation, I would like to officially welcome you to planDisney! In just a few weeks, the clock on the countdown to your vacation will strike midnight, and you'll be on your way to The Most Magical Place on Earth to experience all the EARidescent excitement of the 50th Anniversary Celebration. I bet you're excited!

I applaud you for taking on the role of Fairy Godmother for your family's upcoming trip. Managing the magic for everyone in your party isn't as easy as waving a magic wand and whispering bibbidi bobbidi boo. I plan all the trips for my large, multigenerational family, so I know from experience how many hours go into creating the perfect Walt Disney World Resort vacation. You deserve a treatment or two at The Grand Floridian Spa!

The beauty of the Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience is that it makes planning with others such a streamlined process. As long as your parents and each member of your travel party are on your list, you will be able to book their Genie+ service Lightning Lane selections for them and manage anything else they might need. When purchasing Disney Genie+ service or making a Lightning Lane selection, your Family & Friends list will appear and allows you to select each eligible individual to include. Just make sure you select everyone.

Is everyone in your party showing up on your list? If not, let me walk you through the easiest ways to link your accounts. If you have any trouble, I suggest you call the friendly Cast Members at the My Disney Experience and MagicBands line at 407-939-4357 for further assistance.

    • Open the My Disney Experience app and click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select "My Profile" from the list of options that appear. Click "Show My Linking Code." This will generate a unique QR code that your family members can scan with their smart device to quickly connect your accounts.
    • To link your accounts from a browser, simply access your Family & Friends list in your My Disney Experience account. Scroll to the bottom of your list and click on "Add a Guest." Three options will appear that allow you to add someone to your list - through your connected Guests, from a Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservation, or by entering their name and age. Choose the most appropriate option for your family, then walk through the remaining steps to invite them to plan together.
Emily, remember you can make your first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection starting at 7:00 a.m. Be on the Tip Board in your mobile app ready to go at that time. You can continue booking Lightning Lanes every two hours or after utilizing a selection, whichever comes first. I recently walked another Guest through the basics of Disney Genie+ service. It might be helpful for you too.

From one Fairy Godmother to another, I hope your vacation is everything your heart has been dreaming of and more. Have courage, be kind, and please stop by planDisney again in the future.

May all your wishes come true,
