Family planning a trip

As parents, how do we link both accounts to our Disney World trip reservation. Like bank account and other services for families I'd like to assume Disney World can handle families with two active parents.

Hi there, Kent! Thanks for stopping by to see your pals here at planDisney!

Your ho-ho-holiday vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort is only a few days away, so we need to make sure your plans are all in one shareable, easy-to-find place. Fortunately, Disney has a practically perfect tool for doing just that called the Family and Friends list!

I see that my fellow planDisney panelist Ashley has already extolled the virtues of using the Family and Friends list to help your family manage your plans, so let's expand on that a bit. Since you and your wife have separate My Disney Experience accounts, you'll need to connect your accounts in order to share your plans. If your wife made the bulk of the plans for your upcoming vacation, I'd have her initiate the process to link your accounts. She'll start by hopping into the My Disney Experience mobile app on her phone, then following these directions:

     - Click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of the screen.
     - Scroll down to click on "My Profile," which goes to the "My Account" screen.
     - Click on the "Family & Friends List" tab at the top of that page to see all Guests associated with her account.
     - Scroll down to "Add a Guest" and click on "I'll enter their name and age."

Entering your info, along with the email address you used to create your My Disney Experience account, will generate an email invitation for you. When you accept her invitation, you'll be added to her list and should be able to view all of the plans she's made for your trip.

And that should do it! Hopefully after following these steps, you and your wife will be able to easily share your vacation plans. If you have any issues or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to drop us another question.

I'm so excited for your family to start your holiday adventure at the Walt Disney World Resort, Kent! I wish you a jolly holiday and a very happy new year to come!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
