Hi Claire!
Welcome back to planDisney.
It's always a pleasure to assist my fellow guests from the UK, and we want to find ways for everyone to enjoy their time at Walt Disney World.
I'm wondering if your Dad would qualify for the
Disability Access Service (DAS)as he struggles with dark queues. We don't want anyone to be left behind.
Every guest who wishes to register for DAS is required to have a video chat with the DAS team up to 30 days in advance of their visit. For International guests, including visitors from the UK, this video chat cannot happen until you arrive in the United States. Once you have arrived,
please use this link to speak with a Cast Member (this will only work in the US, and you'll need to scroll down the page to find the link for a video chat).
You are welcome to use your own mobile device to chat when you are at the parks, but you can also connnect from your Resort hotel room if you find that easier. If you visit any Guest Relations at the parks you'll find help with connecting to the video chat, and you can do this on the first day of your visit to get everything organised.
I hope this explains what you need to do, but please come back and visit us again if you have any further questions -
you can also send me a direct question if you wish. We will be very happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World. Remember to keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news about events that may be happening during your stay.
Sue
