Welcome to planDisney Kelly!
With all we do on our cell phones, it is hard to remember a time without them. While a phone is helpful when on a
Disney Cruise, it certainly is not mandatory. I often sail with my parents and mom proudly has a "flip phone" (yes, they still make those!) but they get by fine without a smart phone.
Once on board, your crew member will assist checking your parents in for the muster drill, so no worries there. A paper copy of the
Personal Navigator can be obtained at
Guest Services or let a Stateroom Host know paper copies would be appreciated and they can leave one in your parent's stateroom. In the
dining rooms, the service team will be happy to provide menus, no problem!
While having a phone is handy on the ship, your parents will have no troubles without one. In some ways, it sounds kind of nice not being tied to a cell phone for a few days! If they need assistance, they can stop by Guest Services or give them a call from their stateroom and a crew member will be quick to help them so their cruise will be "smooth sailing!"
Your parents might enjoy a fabulous meal dining at the adult-only dining room,
Palo. There is an upcharge for this dining experience, but the food is truly amazing. Palo can be booked ahead of time on their Disney Cruise Line account from their desk top computer.
Another place your parents will enjoy is the
Quiet Cove, the adult-only pool area. Here you will find adult refreshments, the nearby
Senses Spa & Salon, and the
Cove Cafe for specialty coffee.
All this sounds so fun, I cannot wait to be onboard for my next Disney Cruise Line adventure! I hope to see your parents sailing with Captain Mickey and the crew real soon!
