Do parents have to use a Fast Pass for a child to attend a character visit?

Hi Kelly and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love answering questions from fellow North Carolinians.

Everyone age 3 and up who wants to enter a FastPass+ line for an attraction (including Character Greetings) will need to have a valid FastPass+ selection. If you have a child under the age of three, they do not require a FastPass+ selection but the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and/or good friends who want to accompany the child will need to use a FastPass+ selection.

Our favorite Walt Disney World Characters have fans of all ages who choose to use their FastPass+ selection to say hello. I recently saw a video of a grandmother who was meeting Mickey Mouse for the first time in her life and it brought me to tears! Fortunately, Walt Disney World Resort allows us all to be a kid again.

Just in case you need recommendations, some of my favorite places to meet Characters are the Epcot Character Spot for Mickey and friends, Princess Fairytale Hall at Magic Kingdom Park for a royal experience, and Star Wars Launch Bay at Disney's Hollywood Studios to say hello to the cutest droid, BB-8.

Be sure to let us know if we can help you with any other questions.
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
