My parents would like to with the EPCOT resort. But we plan to stay offsite at another hotel in Orlando. We also have a rental car. We most likely will just spent one day in EPCOT. What is the best way to do this? and how much is the ticket?

Hi there, Karen, and welcome to planDisney!

As a local to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, I'm proof that the magic can still happen when you find yourself staying offsite. My favorite vacations are the ones when I can just hop on the Disney Skyliner or other Resort transportation and be steps away from the theme parks, but trust me, there's nothing like driving under "The Most Magical Place on Earth" sign before your adventure begins.

If you only intend on visiting EPCOT for one day, you'll want to purchase a 1-Day theme park ticket. You can buy your tickets on the Walt Disney World Resort website, and you can find the current pricing there. Find the heading that says "Parks & Tickets," and select "Theme Park Tickets." You'll find that the ticket prices depend on which day you're visiting, your desired theme park, and the number of days you visit.

You can only purchase parking for your vehicle on the day of your visit. When you drive to the parking ticket booth, you'll have the option of purchasing standard, preferred, or oversized vehicle parking. This cost is per vehicle and for the entire day. So, if you need to leave the park during the day, when you return later, simply show your receipt to the Cast Member at the booth.

AN EXTRA GEM: In preparation for your visit, definitely download the My Disney Experience App to your phone. Being familiar with this app will help you spend more time in the moment with your parents and less time on your device while at the theme park. This app includes maps of Walt Disney World Resort property, wait times for attractions, Disney Genie+ Service and Individual Lightning Lane information (if you'd like to skip longer standby queues), Mobile Ordering for food and snacks, Disney PhotoPass photo downloads, and more.

You and your parents will love making unforgettable memories together during the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts in January. My family can't get enough of the colorful cuisine, eclectic artwork, and the upbeat music. Revisit us here at planDisney if you have additional questions about maximizing your time at the Disney Parks next year. I'm all ears!

    Magic always,
