My parents are coming to Disney with us to help with the kids. Our family is getting the dining plan, but my parents are not. Are the kids able to use their magic bands to use dining credits while they are with their grandparents?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stephanie!

My family swears by using the Disney Dining Plan when we're on vacation. We love how easy and convenient it is to have all of our meals taken care of in advance, and when we get to Walt Disney World Resort all we have to do is tap our MagicBand when we want to enjoy a delicious meal or snack.

One of my personal favorite things about the Dining Plan is how flexible it is. My husband and I really love trying fresh, exciting restaurants with exotic flavors, like Tiffins Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom or the brand new Jaleo by José Andrés at Disney Springs, but sometimes the people we're traveling with would rather have something more simple, which is why I love that the Dining Plan allows us the flexibility to split up if we want to.  It sounds like it's going to work really well for your family because your kids will be able to use their MagicBands to redeem their credits when they're spending time with their grandparents, even if your parents aren't using the Dining Plan themselves. The kids can order and pay for their own meals together, or they can each order individually if they prefer. You will associate a PIN code to your MagicBand that will be used to make purchases and use your Dining Plan credits, so make sure that your Mouseketeers have it memorized, and maybe let your parents know too in case the little ones forget.

    Have a magical day, Stephanie!
