Hi Alex,
Welcome to planDisney!
First and foremost, I would like to thank your father for his service and I’m so excited that you and your parents will be coming to the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time! I actually have some experience with these types of tickets because of Veterans who have traveled with me in the past, so you’re talking to the right person!
The first step is to create a
My Disney Experience account. This is a helpful tool and mobile app for Theme Park tickets, maps, wait times, mobile ordering and so much more. When you purchase your Theme Park tickets from the MWR Office, they will give you ticket ID numbers. Once you have those Theme Park ticket IDs, you will link them in the My Disney Experience mobile app. To do this, from the My Disney Experience mobile app home screen, press the three horizontal lines in the lower right-hand corner. Next select “Tickets and Passes” then “Link Tickets & Passes”. Under the “Ticket or Pass” banner, you will be able to add your ID codes for each of the tickets.
Now that your tickets are linked, let’s make sure you have your
MagicBands. You can either purchase them from
shopDisney or buy them through My Disney Experience. If you are buying from shopDisney, once you get your MagicBands, just link them in My Disney Experience like your tickets above. If you want to buy MagicBands through My Disney Experience, you must first book a reservation at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. If you go this route, you will be given special offers on MagicBands that can be shipped to your house or to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel. These MagicBands will already come linked to your My Disney Experience account.
Finally let’s talk about
Disney Park Pass reservations. Once your Theme Park tickets are in My Disney Experience, you can book your Disney Park Pass reservations for your vacation. To do this, from the home screen in the My Disney Experience mobile app, select the “+” symbol in the bar at the bottom (two buttons to the right of the “home” button). Next, select “Make a Park Reservation” then select “Theme Park Tickets” this will take you to the Theme Park Reservation page where you can select your Disney Park Pass reservations. You’ll want to double check the Theme Park
Reservation calendar as well, just to make sure the days you’re hoping to select have availability. And just like that, you’ll be one step closer to the magic. Make sure to get your "First Visit" buttons as soon as you step foot into Walt Disney World Resort!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your family’s first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort for the
World’s Most Magical Celebration. I know this will be a special trip and there are many steps to take before your vacation, so if you have further questions
please feel free to reach out, I am always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
