My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. 50 years ago they spent their honeymoon at Walt Disney World! We have family vacation to Disney next week (Aug 2-6) and my siblings and I are trying to plan something special to celebrate.

    Hi, there!

Welcome to planDisney, Jessica. I am just thrilled you stopped by! Your family's vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort is quickly approaching (squee!) and you have SO much to celebrate together. Let's plan something extra special!

I have goosebumps just thinking about how incredible it is that your parents spent their honeymoon at the Walt Disney World Resort 50 years ago. The World's Most Magical Celebration happening right now is the perfect, perfect way to commemorate such a happy occasion! There's lots of new magic to experience in the theme parks as part of Walt Disney World Resort's 50th Anniversary Celebration, but my favorite has to be Disney Enchantment, Magic Kingdom Park's latest nighttime spectacular. It's not to be missed! You and your siblings may want to consider booking one of the Magic Kingdom 50th Fireworks Dessert Parties. These parties combine reserved seating and 50th Anniversary-themed desserts. How perfect would that be for your parents?

I'm hoping your parents took some photos in front of Cinderella Castle when they honeymooned at the Walt Disney World Resort. It would be so great to recreate them! You could enlist the help of a Disney PhotoPass Photographer, or, for a more customized experience, you and your siblings could book a Capture Your Moment photo session at Magic Kingdom Park. It's a picture-perfect way to celebrate your parents' 50th anniversary!

If you have an existing dining reservation at a participating restaurant, you can order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake as a surprise for your parents. These cakes are as cute as they are yummy! You can choose from dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate (my recommendation!) and add an engraving to congratulate your parents.

Have you seen the bride and groom Mickey Mouse Ear Hats? They'd be an adorable gift for your parents to wear through the theme parks! Additionally (and this suggestion is a freebie!), be sure to stop by Guest Relations at any of the four theme parks or the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel to request complimentary celebration buttons for your parents. With celebration buttons on, your parents are sure to receive well wishes from Cast Members and Guests alike!

I hope this was helpful, Jessica. I'm wishing you and your family the most magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
