Ahoy There, Linda!
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for sailing by with your question. How exciting that you are planning a Disney Cruise Line sailing to the great wide somewhere. Our family has enjoyed seven Disney cruises. From tots to teens, our kids have had the most magical experiences, and much of it has had to do with the onboard kids' clubs!
Linda, Disney’s
Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are for Mouseketeers from 3 to 12 years of age. During Open House hours, which are indicated on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, parents are invited to play and explore these interactive spaces with their little sailors. However, once secure programming begins, no grown-ups are allowed. Kids need to be checked in and out, and for the safety of all kids, grown-ups can't come in during these times.
I know it can feel a bit nerve-wracking leaving your kiddos in a kids' club. But Disney Cast Members are all trained and do a great job keeping the little ones busy and having a great time. Our kids had so much fun that they kept asking to return! It was a great time for my husband and I to enjoy the adults-only area and even a dinner at Palo. If something comes up or if your little one wants to be picked up, the Cast Members can also message you in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
I recommend checking out the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab when the Open House takes place on Embarkation Day. It's a great time to get your little one familiar with the space and for you to review any important information with the youth counselor, including any allergies, concerns, etc. There are restrooms in the Oceaneer Club/Lab area, so they don't have to leave it if they need the bathroom. When picking your children up, you must scan your Key to the World Card and whisper your secret password to the youth counselor. Then it's the perfect time to enjoy family time together!
I hope your family has the most magical time! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, sail back here to see us, and we will be so happy to help you.
