Hi Kimberly!
Welcome to planDisney! The
Rider Switch service is my family’s favorite way to explore the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. I honestly can’t imagine a trip without it when we visit with our two young boys.
So, here’s what you need to know about this pixie-dusted option:
-Rider Switch is 100% complimentary. Simply visit a Cast Member with a tablet nearby the attraction’s entrance. All they need to set up the Rider Switch are the tickets (or MagicBands,
MagicBands+, or Apple Watch with linked tickets) of the party who will ride the second go-around.
-While the second party and the child who isn’t tall enough or doesn’t want to ride waits, the first party will ride the attraction via standby queue or Lightning Lane (if the person/people in that party has Lightning Lane access via
Disney Genie+ Service, Individual Lightning Lane purchase, or
Disability Access Service).
-After the first party is done, the member(s) of second party will ride via the Lightning Lane.
AN EXTRA GEM: What I love the most about Rider Switch is that my older child who does like to ride the thrilling attractions gets to ride the attraction twice using this service. His little brother will be able to ride many of them very soon, so hopefully he’s not too used to this perk!
I hope that your family has an amazing time at the Most Magical Place on Earth, Kimberly! Please
give me a holler if you have any further questions while planning your vacation.
Magic always,
LeAndra
